What people say
“Our back wall was dropping sand onto the patio every time it rained. Joe showed me the worst joints on his phone before he quoted anything. Two winters later, nothing has come loose.”
“The chimney on our Lawrenceville rowhouse was leaning toward the neighbor’s roof. Joe took it down to the roofline and rebuilt it in four days. I can’t tell where the old brick stops.”
“Water was coming in around the chimney in the attic. Joe came out two days after I called, found the flashing had pulled away, and fixed it the same week. He cleaned up better than we do.”
What I do
Brick pointing
Old mortar wears out before the brick does. I cut the worn joints out, pack in new mortar mixed for soft brick, and tool it to match what’s there. Whole house or one wall, it’s the same job done carefully.
Chimney repair
Most chimney leaks start at the top: a cracked crown, a missing cap, or flashing that’s pulled away from the roof. I fix those, and when the brick is too far gone I take the chimney down to the roofline and rebuild it.

Joe Kusnir
I’ve been pointing brick and rebuilding chimneys in these neighborhoods since 2011. Most of the houses I work on went up before 1930, so I mix mortar to suit old, soft brick. I’ll look first, take pictures of what I find, and show you before I quote anything. If it’s a small job, I’ll tell you it’s a small job. I’m fully insured, and estimates are free.
